Nauty 360 is an Airbnb for boat rentals and nautical experiences. We connect boat owners and nautical tourism operators with users who wish to carry out recreational, sport or business activities.

Our long term goal is to become a nautical hub where users can rent boats, buy / sell boats or any water related vehicle, get marina slots, purchase boat management software, insurance policies and so on. We will cover the entire planet through out platform beginning with Latin America, North America and Europe. In this way, we can have different sources of revenue besides the brokerage from boat rentals.

We have different distribution channels for acquiring users. Besides regular user acquisition through social media ads, we have partnered with travel industry players like OTA’s, traditional travel agencies, banks, and insurance companies so their users can access the boat rental industry thorugh Nauty 360.

Our company started in Cartagena, Colombia due to big problems, travelers faced when accessing this type of services. Also, boat owners started to get bored of their boat and ended up selling it up to 50 % less of the price they paid due to hight maintnance costs with little usage.


Problem

For one side, boat owners are constantly suffering for high maintnance for their boat from an asset that they only use 5 to 10 % of the time during the year. In other hand, boat rental services were only offered to high end costumers where middle class travelers did not have the accessibility and the resourses to rent a boat. In addition, users face a huge problem of disorganization and informality in the sector. Informal intermediaries increases the actual price of the rental up to 150 % of the real price and they are not offering boats certified to be chartered.

Solution

Through a web & mobile platform, we connect users directly with the owners, so they can see all the boats available to rent. They can obtain the real price of the services with no informal intermediaries and have total access to certified boats and experiences. In addition, we help boat owners to generate income to mitigate those high expenses renting their boat.

Business Model

How do we make money? our take rate is 20 % paid by boat owners for every booking received. The idea with launching our second version is to diversify our sources of revenue. This second version will include : buy/sell boats ( Commission per transaction ) – Insurance Policies ( Commission per policy issued ) – Marina Slots ( Commission per Slot Sold ) – Boat Management Software ( Fee per suscription x month ) – Boat parts and mechanics ( revenue x commission )

Our plan is to penetrate different players in economic sectors like banking, insurance, travel, credit cards, etc so we can offer the possibility to their users to rent boats in a easy and accssesible way through Nauty 360.
